Michael Mann’s LA crime saga, Heat, stars Robert De Niro as Neil McCauley, a professional thief, and Al Pacino as Lt. Vincent Hanna, a veteran L.A.P.D. robbery-homicide detective tracking down McCauley’s crew.

Kevin Gage plays “Waingro,” a new addition to DeNiro’s criminal team. When Waingro’s quick trigger finger jeopardizes a smooth operation, McCauley attempts to terminate him. Waingro escapes, and becomes an irritant and a distraction for McCauley. In the end it is McCauley’s single-minded pursuit of Waingro that causes him to lose everything he has been working for.

Kevin’s Waingro is sly and devious, capable of impulsive violence or calculated murder. He remains one of the most memorable and popular characters in the film.

Heat was a critical and commercial success, grossing $67 million in the United States and $187 million worldwide.
